Museum Thursday: The Austin Museum of Art

Dear Jack,

What is art?

Is it a well designed Herman Miller chair?

Or a chaise lounge designed by Jack Nolen?

Is it a building of cards?

Is an Eric Carle board book "art"?

Or a scribbled drawing on a fold-able paper chair?

I don't really know much about art. I like to look at the things other people think are art. I like to take pictures of things I think are art. I am learning to paint, like a real artist.

But nothing I ever see or draw or capture on film or create will ever be more of a work of art to me than you and your sister.
