Dear Jack,
Today was your sister's half birthday, which in this family, means that we did pretty much anything she wanted for the day. The good news is that a lot of the things she wanted to do were fun for you, too.

She wanted to walk around Zilker park. You enjoyed riding around in your Moby Wrap.

She wanted to slide. You also wanted to slide.

She wanted to play in the water. You also wanted to play in the water.

She wanted to take a break, drink water and eat snacks. Thanks to your new-found ability to use a sippy cup with a straw, you also could easily have water and snacks.

At the end, though, you just couldn't keep up with your big sister and had to just close your eyes and take a little nap.

After your nap, though, you were ready to play. Your sister wanted to shop and you were happy to play with the toys at the store even if you weren't getting anything.

The best part, though? Thanks to a three week premature lift on the dairy ban, when your sister decided she wanted a milk shake after dinner, you got one, too.
So I guess it's really
your un-birthday, too.
Love,
Mom
I love the picture on the slide with Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteDairy ban?
ReplyDeleteLooks as though this little fellow had a great day. So cute! I wish we had some great water places around here. But all the streams are muddy instead of limestoney. At least there's the kiddie pool for the backyard.
Dairy ban as in "no cow's milk" for the first year. Theoretically that's why one of the many reasons to give infants formula. The proteins in cow's milk are pretty big and hard to digest, so little tummies have a hard time with them. But it's not like boom on May 17th his tummy will suddenly be able to digest better and he's done fine with things like yogurt and a small amount of cheese, so he's been getting cow's milk whenever we're at restaurants since about a week ago.
ReplyDeleteOh, right. I forgot about that rule. Yay that your little guy is almost one!
