Going Out Sleepers

Dear Jack,

Your father tried to dress you for bed last night. He found a sleeper in a drawer and was all set to dress you in it.

Wait, I told him, that's a "going out sleeper," as I pulled another sleeper from the drawer, use this one instead.

Your father was incredulous at the idea of a "going out sleeper." What, he wanted to know, was a "going out sleeper"?

So I told him, this is.

It's okay if you don't get it either. That's what I'm here for.

Love,
Mom

  1. Can we get a picture of a going to bed sleeper for comparison?

  3. Having a coordinating blanket does just about secure a sleeper as a "going out sleeper," but so can interesting fabrics, colors, or just design. Basically, any sleeper that was bought on a hanger by itself from a middle to high-end store and not in a three pack from Target or WalMart. This one actually also has a matching hat (matching hats also make a sleeper a "going out sleeper") but I think Jack's little head is so darn cute that I can't bring myself to cover it with a hat.

  4. And, yes, it makes me extraordinarily happy to have found a sleeper that matches the blanket I made for Jack.

  5. I love that Jeremy still asks these types of questions, and doesn't just roll his eyes as he puts back the sleeper for the other sleeper. By the way... great blankie sleeper combo! They both look soft and comfy!
