Do you know why I love this picture so much?
Yes, part of it is that you are wearing a tiny little t-shirt that says "new baby," as if anyone needed the words on the t-shirt to tell them you are new to the world.
But mostly, it's that little dried up umbilical cord that you still have. That reminder that you were absolutely, completely, utterly, and literally connected to me just two short weeks ago.
How cool is that?

ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm telling you, knowing a baby is your last makes you really think about things. And that umbilical cord is a symbol to me of the extreme newness of jack right now. Once it falls off, he won't be a "brand new" baby anymore. He'll just be a little baby. And then one day he won't be a little baby, he'll be a big baby and so forth and so on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great pic. I have only one pic of Myles with his umbilical cord, and none of Lilly, and this does make me a little sad. Lillia has made up for this in constant the pictures of herself she takes daily to update her facebook and myspace with.
